5 Simple Ways To Turn This Polar Vortex Into A Skin Savior

Written by corey

When it comes to these below freezing temperatures, there’s not much you can do. For me, it gives an excuse to add a few extra layers to an outfit (pro tip: use a sweater as a scarf, it’s warm and stylish) or to cuddle up and binge watch on some Netflix. While these temperatures are doing terrible things to your skin and keeping the moisture out, we found a few ways to put these igloo possible temperatures to use.

Reduce Those Puffy Eyes

Did you have a rough night? Are you also out of your favorite under eye gel? Either reach outside your window for a icicle or into your freezer and grab some ice. Wrap the cube into a washcloth or paper towel and hold under your eyes until you see a visibly reduced under-eye area. If you know you’re going to be on the struggle bus most night, freeze some cucumber slices and keep them on your eyes while you piece together your night.

An Easy Primer

Cold water is known to close your pores, and hot water will open them wide up. Before putting on your morning foundation, run an ice cube over your face, focusing on those larger than normal pore areas. The ice will reduce the pores of even the coldest bitch.

A Quick Facial Scrub

For a quick weekend facial scrub, throw some veggies in a blender and a few iced cubes with water and freeze liquid into an ice cube. Once they’re good and frozen, throw one in your mouth to suck on and use another to rub over your face and exfoliate using natural ingredients. It’s the quickest way for a low-cal snack and fresh skin.
