Certain foods have the ability to make you happy. I don’t mean happy in the Paula-Deen-in-the-presence-of-butter sense, I mean happy in the clinical/chemical sense. We all experience depression and mood swings every now and then, but eating these seven foods can lessen their severity and may help you keep your friends. Dark chocolate: Well, obviously But seriously, it can calm your muscles and reduce anxiety and depression.

Spinach: This superfood can help boost your mood and protect your brain cells from free radicals, which can lower your energy and lead to mood swings.

Avocado: They contain serotonin, as if you needed another reason to love them.

Greek yogurt: The probiotics in Greek yogurt boost your mood and immune system.

Green tea: Not only is it super-hydrating, but it acts as a calming agent, as well.

Blueberries/strawberries/raspberries: These three berries help ward off stress and depression.

Salmon: Its omega-3s keep mood swings at bay and improve focus.
