Why You Should Consider Taking Cold Showers

What if you knew you could improve your health, simply by taking a cold shower?

Research shows that showering with cold water provides countless health benefits — here’s seven of them:

1. Improves blood circulation: When cold water touches your skin, your body undergoes a “shock.” This shock, which speeds up your blood flow to travels to your organs faster  in order to keep your body warm, improves your blood and organ health.

2. Strengthens immune system: Cold temperatures, contrary to popular belief, actually boost your immune strength. Studies indicate those who regularly take cold showers have higher white blood cell counts, as well as plasma, T helper cells, and lymphocytes.

3. Helps burn fat: Cold showers increase your metabolic rate, as the cold temperatures force the body to utilize calories to re-regulate your body temperature.

4. Heals Skin: Hot water dries out your skin. Cold water, on the other hand, helps seal the pores in your face, thereby prevents your pores from getting clogged.

5. Improves hair health: For similar reasons above, cold water seals the pores in your hair, preventing dryness and dullness. When you wash your hair in cold water, your hair will feel silkier and look shinier.

6. Promotes detox: Cold showers cause muscle contractions which eliminate toxins and waste.

7. Reduces blood pressure
