Our hair is what we eat. We all know that foods effect our skin in in good and bad ways, but the same goes for our hair. It may take a longer time to notice a change in our locks, but stock up on the following foods and you’ll reap the benefits for sure.
Oysters – I know you don’t want to be binging on oysters, but they are rich in zinc, which prevents hair loss (that goes for eyelash loss, too!).
Sweet potatoes – Rich in beta carotene, which your body converts into vitamin A, sweet potatoes can help your scalp produce the oil it needs for healthy hair. It can help control dandruff. Does this go for sweet potato fries, too?
Eggs – The iron in eggs carries oxygen to hair follicles. in other words, it helps your hair not fall out. An egg a day keeps the hair loss away.
Spinach – Spinach is just all-around amazing. It helps keep the oils circulating and your hair follicles in good shape.
Lentils – These are little gems of protein, a key to lustrous locks. Vegetarians and vegans take note.
Greek yogurt – Skim milk and cottage cheese will do the trick, too, but Greek yogurt contains vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid, something you might see on hair product labels).
Blueberries – Blueberries are the vitamin C superstars of the fruit world. It’s critical for circulation to the scalp and prevents hair breakage.
Poultry – The vitamins and protein in poultry keep hair plentiful. It’s like edible Rogaine. Ew…but really.
