Travel Spotting: Unique Reasons to Visit Thailand

Floating Market in Thailand

Any time I am going to visit a place, I want to know what sets it apart from other destinations. When I think of Thailand, I normally just think about how pretty and realistic the trannies are. So, in an effort to explore it a little more I compiled a list of strange facts about Thailand. Even if you never make it there, at least you can use these facts to wow your friends at parties with your copious amounts of useless knowledge:

Red Bull originated in Thailand. I guess I know who to thank for all those amazing nights of alcohol poisoning and near-heart attacks.

Chopsticks are only really used for dishes that originated in China. In Thailand they mostly use forks and spoons, like regular people (and by regular people, I mean The Little Mermaid).

We may be the most obese country ever to mar the face of the Earth, but in Thailand they eat four meals a day. Maybe we could learn something about moderation?

You know how in America, every young male is expected to sleep with me at least once? Well, in Thailand every young male is expected to become a monk at some point in their lives. Its like the same thing, but without the fun aspect.
