Cargo‘s new PlantLove collection can satisfy all of your crunchy cosmetic needs this season. Completely (and I mean, completely) environmentally-friendly, PlantLove is certified by ECOCERT, which basically the French-based worldwide FDA of all-things-organic (they’re super picky, just so you know), and every piece of the collection – from the ingredients, to creation process, to the packaging – is environmentally sound and/or natural.
I recently received a package of new toys from the PlantLove collection and although I’m normally skeptical of mineral based makeup – I find that they have too little or too much pigment for my taste – PlantLove has gone beyond my expectations as a colour satisfying and fresh finish product.

I’m more of a brush and gel fan, but PlantLove’s eyeliner provided the same deep rich pigments and smooth application of most smudge pots in the convenience of a pencil. The lip liner was creamy and a dark matte rose with violet undertones, perfect for lining the bottom lip and defining your cupid’s bow.
The two eye colours I received, midnight blue and light brown, both glided on with a desirable blend of shimmer and smoke and easily washed off with soap and water. The light brown had forest green undertones and the midnight blue was a deep metallic navy marine. However, the pencil was a bit delicate – it crumbled at times rather than smudging with pressure – but the easy application, popping colours, and staying-power far outweigh the must-have investment in a sharpener.
Perfect for season-dry skin, PlantLove powder blush has a super sensitive, au naturale formula that won’t irritate or clog. This sheer and silky colour in a super fine 100% natural origin blusher comes packaged in a pebble-shaped pod. Cherry Blossom, in particular, is a soft mauve-rose with a hint of sheen.
The application was extremely light and needed several strokes to make an impact, but this might just not be my personal colour. However, given the right shade, the formula was perfect for daytime wear and petal-soft and airy enough to compliment bare skin.
The most impressive pieces that I received were the PlantLove eyeshadows. Fabulously vibrant pigments and a soft powder pan that was easily crushed, put this organic product a step above the rest, giving this mild-formula shadow a fun and dramatic twist.

I received three colours: Dove, a dusty shimmery blue; Loon, bronzey copper; and Finch, a light lavender mauve – all beautiful and blendable and perfect for fall for any eye colour.
