Long before John Galliano was making egregious cultural slurs in a bar, a young Christian Dior was busy creating “The New Look” in 1947 – a nipped-in waist and a long, full skirt. Before Charlize Theron ever ripped off her diamond necklace and threw it on the floor in the J’Adore Dior commercial, the very first perfume by Christian Dior – Miss Dior – was being crafted in Paris in the late 1940s.
