Grapes have almost innumerable health benefits, and I’m here to round up the 10 most amazing ones. In addition to being awesome for you, grapes can be the perfect snack. Um, have you ever tried frozen grapes on a hot day or post-workout? There’s really nothing better. Nothing, except for these crazy health benefits:
1. Heart disease. Grapes increase the nitric oxide levels in the blood. This prevents blood clots, which means less risk of heart attacks. What’s more, the antioxidants in grapes prevent the oxidation of LDL cholesterol, which blocks blood vessels.
2. Asthma. Grapes help increase the moisture present in lungs, which, I guess is a good thing for asthma sufferers.
3. Migraine. Ripe grape juice is an excellent home remedy for migraines. Apparently, it works best taken in the morning without mixing in any additional water.
4. Indigestion. Grapes can cure indigestion and relieve stomach irritation. They’re also considered a laxative food. Yay.
5. Fatigue. Light and white grape juice replenishes your body’s iron content and provides you with a boost of energy.
6. Anti-cancer properties. Grapes have anti-inflammatory properties thanks to resveratrol present in them. As a result, they have strong cancer preventing powers. The pigments in grapes enhance the immune system, and grape juice can help inhibit the spread of cancer-causing cells.
7. Breast cancer. Good news for those of you throwing it back to elementary school and still drinking grape juice. Studies have shown that purple colored Concord grape juice can help prevent breast cancer.
8. Alzheimer’s. Resveratrol, a beneficial polyphenol present in grapes, can enhance brain health and stall the onset of diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
9. Eye health. Grapes can prevent cataracts, age-related vision loss, and macular degeneration.
10. Antibacterial properties. Grapes have strong antibacterial and antiviral properties that can help protect you from infections.
