Lonely and Hungry in Japan? Visit a Cat Cafe!

Before you start thinking that this article is racist, ask yourself if I would ever be so brash. Then, after you realize I grew up in Florida, bear with me. Since Japan is full of a lot of people and very little space, it isn’t often practical to have a pet. There are also lots of sexy, stray cats just wandering around procreating. In recent years Cat Cafes have popped up all over the place.

The idea is simple; For a modest price of $5-8 you can have a seat, grab a latte and a sandwich, and play with any of the dozen cats running around your feet. Japan can be a stressful place to live, so the thought process is that an hour of animal play-time does wonders for your health and quality of life, and there are over 150 pet-rental locations in Tokyo alone. Surprisingly, the main patrons of these Cat Cafes are young businessmen in their 30s. If I wanted to be surrounded by p#ssy I would just go to a low-rent strip club, but obviously I am really hardcore.

The next stop on the pet-rental trend in Japan is Owl Cafes. My guess is that they are a little more upscale than your typical Cat Cafe; reserved only for the who’s hoo of Japanese society. Yes my friends, that joke just happened.
