Snack Healthy, Not Beastly

Written by Bryce

Earlier this week, Ashley and I were running around Park City trying to hit every suite and party at Sundance.  Although it seems like all fun and games, all that schlepping around in the snowy mountains (nevermind the exhaustive amounts of partying) leaves most people tired and in the mood to snack.  There’s no time for a proper meal at Sundance, so most people resort to snacking on things like pizza, Muscle Milk shakes (well, they sponsored the festival), or the more likely third option: alcohol.

Although Ashley enjoyed her vanilla and berry Muscle Milk concoction, I feared the worst: that I’d blow up into some wild body builder type.  Sure, it would probably require working out as well, but just the word “muscle” was enough to scare me off.  I’ll take my snacks lighter and more natural, thank you very much.

I was pretty glad that my new friend Damiano is the publicist for Q.bel chocolate wafers, because the box he hooked me up with right before heading to Utah definitely helped get me through some of my most intense cravings for more health-offensive foods.  Although Q.bel wafers aren’t exactly calorie-free, they’re packaged in just the right portions so you don’t have to worry about over indulging.  They’re tasty (the peanut butter variety was my fave, it’s a damn good replacement for Reese’s if that’s your style), and they’re an all natural treat that you won’t feel guilty about.  I was especially pleased to see that they are low in sodium, have no trans fats or bizarro fake sugars, and are made with ingredients I actually understand.  I give these imported little nuggets of sweetness credit for me not resorting to Muscle Milk snacks that would make me manlier than your boyfriend. #nowthatsgreatnews #sweettreatunder200calories!
