A bow-tie wearing travel bunny named Coco enjoyed the perks of business class most of us only dream of. Eight year old Coco made her way to Japan from San Francisco with her owner, Takako Ogawa, and scooped up dozens of new fans along the way.

Ogawa had flown to California three years earlier, and had placed Coco in the animal hold as most do when traveling by air. This time, however, she feared her adorable companion wouldn’t be able to make the trip quite as hoppily. What happened next was a series of fortunate events almost specifically designed for the Instagram Age.

Ogawa, a CEO, knew she had to register her sweet travel bunny as an emotional support animal to make it all work. After Ogawa’s application was approved, she dished out $100 to keep her little somebunny in the cabin. The initial plan was to keep Coco in a travel case for the 11-hour flight, but man makes plans and… they usually don’t work out.
Soon after takeoff, the flight crew told Ogawa that the seat next to her was empty. The blue mini-rex was out of her cage and onto the seat. The fluffy travel bunny was so adorable, the flight crew wasn’t able to resist her charm.

Members of the flight crew were so enchanted that they swapped duties to ensure they all met Coco. One attendant was so taken that she made sure the travel bunny got her own bowl of nuts and almonds.

Coco also got to nibble on her own croissant. Carbs don’t count if they’re on vacation.

Ogawa was tremendously touched by the pampering her beloved pet got.
“This is one of my favorite flights I’ve ever had,” she shared of her very hoppy experience. “There’s nothing like being able to take your bunny on the plane. She was very curious and was hopping around. She’s usually very good. She’s very calm being surrounded by people and in a different environment, so she took it really well. When I got my own ice cream sundae, the flight attendant looked over and asked if the rabbit wanted anything. I wasn’t sure what the rabbit could have, but she got some of the toppings like almonds and nuts and they put it on a very small plate for her. It was adorable.”

Even after she saved her bunny from the hold, Ogawa was still worried about how she would handle the long flight.
“One thing I was very worried about was her toilet situation, so I brought a lot of pet sheets in her cart. But otherwise I think it was all good. I was nervous [she might try and explore the plane]. She did hop around, explore the pillows, but only in her own [business class] cubicle. I wouldn’t want her hopping around [the rest of the plane].”

Ogawa was more than willing to discuss why she was worried about putting Coco in the hold.
“What happens in the cargo is that there are a lot of anxious animals on the plane with her. Dogs will be barking all the time. My friend had a cat that was put in the cargo that got so nervous during the flight that she couldn’t eat for another week after landing. That kind of pressure might have been bad for Coco because she is older now. I got her an emotional support animal certificate.”
