Go Goth

Written by Steph

No, don’t. Not unless you’ve mastered time travel and scored tickets to see The Cure’s 1981 Picture Tour. In that case, bring me along! I’ve got the perfect hair product for the occasion.

Introducing LUSH‘s Goth Juice Hair Gel. This vegan goop is… well, it’s purple, for one. Sort of a periwinkle color. A little off-putting, but don’t let that scare you away. As much as the goth in you wants this gel to tint your hair, it won’t. Feel free to wear it to a sex dungeon OR your investment banking job, no one will mind.

Anyway, this gel is not for the conventional. The smell isn’t bad… it’s a bit odd, though. Sort of like getting caught in a rainstorm in the middle of the forest, black make-up and tears wreaking havoc on your face. Seriously, it smells kind of strange. LUSH calls it “otherworldy”. I guess that sums it up pretty nicely.

While the scent is fleeting, the effects are long lasting–especially for a medium-hold gel. It’s also not as sticky as your average gel, probably due to the natural ingredients it’s made with– fresh lemon juice, hemp oil, and oakmoss absolute (which you can partially blame that unforgettable smell on).

So get your goth on– have an ’80s inspired English dance party or stay in for the night and watch Donnie Darko. Your hair’ll be up for anything ominous.
