The stats would surprise you.

We all think of heart disease as something that occurs later in life, after we’ve lived a long life of treating ourselves to work, cigs, beers, burgers and little to no sleep. But, shockingly, we are finding heart disease and the threat of heart attacks happening to chicks like us, in our 20’s & 30’s, headed to yoga a couple of times a week, living a seemingly normal, healthy life. Betty Confidential reports:

“Heart attacks are not just happening in nursing homes. Heart attacks are happening to the women you see at your PTA meetings, favorite lunch spots, and playgroups. In fact, heart disease is the number-one killer of women in the United States: The American Heart Association predicts that 365,000 women will have heart attacks this year, and, for those of us under 50, women’s heart attacks are twice as likely as men’s to be fatal.”
