If you can’t tell, The Luxury Spot loves statues and public art. Here are a few of the most awesome statues around the world:
Expansion, New York, USA– Consisting of separate cast bronze pieces welded together, this statue by Paige Bradley emits cracks of light when the sun hits it, so basically it represents what it feels like to be high on all sorts of shit at a music festival when you are in your twenties.
I remember one time I took a 5 day bus trip to Colorado to retrieve my little sister for one of my big sister’s weddings. I won’t go into specifics about the sights and sounds (and smells) you encounter when on a bus for five days, but I will say that the first thing I saw when I got off was a bunch of awesome horse statues around a park in the center of the city. I think that is the point of public art statues, in that they provide a touch of creativity and beauty in what would otherwise be a jumble of boring concrete buildings.
Statues are one way to make a city unique, and the statues on this list are no exception.

Salmon Sculpture, Portland, Oregon, USA- Located on Salmon Street, this statue is ranked #32 in the list of attractions to see in Portland. I can’t tell if that is awesome, or just awesomely sad.
Cattle Drive, Dallas, Texas, USA- Available for viewing in downtown Dallas, these statues tell the story of the pioneer days of yore. Personally, I would love an Instagram or two of me and all my friends taking a little cattle ride.
Nelson Mandela, South Africa- There are no shortage of statues of Nelson Mandela across the world, but this one is particularly artsy.
De Vaartkapoen, Brussels, Belgium– Created by Tom Frantzen, this sculpture represents the power struggle between the working class and police officers. We could probably use a few of these in cities around the US at this point.
