Beauty Spotting: How to Choose Sunglasses to Flatter Your Face

Written by emilyc

To be honest, I usually choose to buy sunglasses based on how they look on whatever website I’m looking at, not based on how they look on my actual face. It’s like, “Oh, Kate Moss is wearing them. They’ll surely flatter my face, as well.” Nope, not the case. Arm yourself with the knowledge of how to choose the right sunglasses to flatter the shape of your face.

Round face: Aviators or wayfarers / anything with angular frames

Square face: Rounded or curved frames

Oval face: You can pull off any shape. Lucky.

Heart-shaped face: Square frames without too much detailing at the top

Diamond-shaped face: Anything but extremes (avoid too rounded or too angular frames)

Triangular face: Square frames or top-heavy frames

And remember: black and tortoise shell look good on pretty much all of you.
