Remember the first time you saw the terrifying picture of this New Jersey mother of five who tanned so much that she resembled the glazed carrots and/or sweet potato casserole that you may have had on Thanksgiving? Well, her skin is shocking the country again, but this time it’s because it looks normal!

You’re probably thinking, “What, did she go to skin boot camp or something?” Yes, yes she kind of did. Dana Ramos, author of The Skin Regime: Boot Camp For Beautiful Skin, made her a proposition: if Tan Mom followed the “Boot Camp” techniques, she could simply and inexpensively restore her skin back to its pre-glazed-carrot condition, and that is precisely what she did.

If you happen to have fallen victim to tanning in the same way that Tan Mom has, you now know that you can pretty much reverse the damage you’ve done by using simple drug store products and at-home glycol treatments, as described in Dana’s book. Bet you never thought Tan Mom was someone capable of inspiring anything other than a melanoma, but now she’s living proof that even the most damaged of skin can be restored!
