Versailles
It is a typical childhood dream for every little girl and gay boy out there to one day grow up and live in a castle. I blame it on our parents for regaling us with fairy tales about handsome princes and huge, sprawling estates. While many of us may not grow up to actually live in a castle (my apt is more like a dungeon), we still have the good fortune to be able to go visit them.
France is well-known for its castles, palaces, and chateaus, however it can be kind of overwhelming to go on an architecture-viewing excursion with nothing but an entire country to guide you. France-Voyage.com has simplified this process by creating a guide of “castles of interest” for all those castle-philes out there (I may have just made up a word). If you are like me, and can’t afford a trip to France right now, you can also enjoy photos, history, and even panoramas of various French castles, from the well-known to the obscure.
