Celebrate National Stress Awareness Month Like This

Written by Bryce

National Stress Awareness month is certainly one to celebrate, because there’s almost nothing better than that feeling of stress-free floating on a cloud. Try these 5 tips to let go of it all this month:

1. Take a friends trip. Maybe just for a weekend, maybe for much longer. Take an easy, Palm Tree-filled adventure with a few of your closest friends to somewhere easy to get to. Easy flights like Bermuda, Miami, or Chicago simplify the process even more, and help you get down to unwinding and enjoying even faster. Check out a resort like the Pompano Beach Club where you and your closest friends can Scuba through real shipwrecks and take literally the best underwater selfies in the world, ever. Check out the resort here.

2. Take a warm bath, lotion up with the right ingredients. Try a rich, buttery body creme like the one AVEDA’s Stress Fix line after a warm bath. You’ll load your skin up with good-for-you ingredients like sea algae and shea butter while letting the spa-worthy scent melt your troubles away. Available at Nordstrom, here.

3. Laugh your way through a yoga session. Aly Walansky of ALittleAlytude.com suggests signing up for a laughing yoga class. “Seriously, try it — your body can’t physiologically tell the difference between a fake laugh and a real one — start laughing, no matter what is going on, and you will soon start laughing FOR REAL, and feel a bit better.”

4. Disconnect. Contributing Editor at Glamamom.com, Valerie Aranov, suggests shutting your devices off completely for an hour or two. Turn off phones, computers, TV– all of it, and treat yourself to a little foot reflexology and some glossy magazines.

5. Try a little licorice root. This nifty little root boasts a natural hormone alternative to cortisone, which helps the body handle stress and can help to normalize blood sugar levels. Side bonus: it’s supposed to help balance your adrenal glands as well, providing you with the energy necessary to deal with the stressful situation at hand. Amazing!
