If you grew up gay, or a girl in the 80s and 90s, chances are your first fashion icons were the Disney princesses. While it’s true their outfits were somewhat outdated, it gave little homos something to aspire to.

Photographer and illustrator Gregory Masouras took that childhood obsession, and channeled it into the ‘Animation in Reality’ Instagram project, where he took Disney characters and combined them with modern style icons like Bella Hadid and the Kardashians. His project was so popular it even caught the eye of Marc Jacobs, when he added the Evil Queen into Jacob’s Fall 2016 collection photos.
