Easy DIY Katy Perry Grammys Makeup

Written by Bryce

With the Grammys around the corner (this weekend, yay!) and Katy Perry constantly rocking my world, I thought I’d break down her makeup look from last year’s event into a simple DIY. I loved her hair and makeup, and they’re both super simple to recreate at home with a little know-how and about 20 minutes of effort. This look is super daytime-work-worthy, too!

Since Katy’s look is all about clean skin and shiny hair, there are two main goals to achieve this look:

1. Start with a clean complexion. Clean and prep skin, and follow up with an intuitive foundation. I used Cover Girl’s truBlend in shade 17, warm beige. Work it into skin and blend into the corners of the face and neck, allow it to set for a minute or two. Follow up with a warm rosy bronzer over the tops of cheek bones, and just a small amount to frame the top of the forehead. Check out the foundation here.

2. Get wild with shine. Using a flat iron, get your hair pin straight. Then, add a little texture and volume with a dry shampoo like Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo (it smells delish, is paraben free, and is available just about everywhere). Pin large, loose curls to the top of your head for about 10 minutes while you finish your makeup. When you pull the curls down, finish with a shine mist. Finish with a neutral lip, black eyeliner, and a deep charcoal eyeshadow in the creases of your lips. Voila! Katy Perry makeup, galore!
