Don’t go tone deaf

Written by RachelR

Liquid toner is such an over-looked and under-estimated beauty must-have. My skin feels refreshed, plump, and renewed after simply swiping a toner-soaked cotton ball over my face, pre-moisturizer in the morning and post-washing my face at night.

Think — a breath of fresh air for your skin and a clean palette for sleep or makeup application.

Simple, one-step application, clarifying and moisture-locking, and the sometimes even the potential for pore shrinking and blackhead cleansing abilities?

Balancé Clarifying Toner by enPointe Skin Solutions ($35USD)

Created by doctor/breast cancer survivor, Dr. Christine Rodgers, enPointe Skin Solutions offers two toner creations (Adagio Gentle Toner aids fragile and damaged skin) – but as an everyday product, Balance Clarifying Toner has become a personal beauty regimen regular for me.

While I’m not crazy about the scent of witch hazel, this light antioxidant-packed liquid toner gives you pore-cleansing results you can see. Additionally, natural extracts provide for gentle and effective complexion enhancement – such as cranberry for luminescence and licorice for anti-inflammatory restoration.

Hydra Fresh Toner by L’oreal (approx. $7USD at most drugstores)

This simple and gently-scented toner has been a favorite of mine for years. Even while studying abroad, I frantically raided every farmacia to find the European version of this must-have product. It plumps up your skin, making it supple and squeaky clean, while refreshing and removing excess makeup, lotion, and soap residue.

Cheap, quick, and easy – a great moisturizer alternative to those with fussy, oily skin – there’s no excuse not to stock up on this product. Perfect for toner newbies and skeptics.

Hydrating Water by Nude Skincare ($34USD at Sephora.com)

An ultra-luxe version by one of my favorite skincare lines (see my review of Nude Moisturizing Body Polish) – use the spray pump applicator to finely mist your face with sweet floral-scented toner, with beneficially calming elements of prickly pear and rose for a super thin coating to lock in moisture and protect from even the harshest natural elements.
