Downright Delish

Written by Bryce

Every morning I wake up and get my kid ready for the day, all while dreaming of my soon-to-be-had cup of coffee and breakfast.  I never used to be a coffee person.  I was too sensitive for caffeine.  After the first 6 months of motherhood, I can officially say those days are long gone.  Caffeine and I are now the best of friends.  Since my relationship with coffee has been brief thus far, I’ve been doing my best to get out there and drink ’em all.  I’ve got 2 clear morningtime winners.  How did I judge?  Taste, smell, ease of brew, and my mental state after drinking a cup.

On most mornings, Dunkin Donuts’ French Vanilla gets me started on the right foot.  It’s aromatic, slightly sweet, and slightly earthy.  My perfect blend is just with an ounce or two of lowfat milk, because good coffee doesn’t need much more!

After I get bright ‘n cheery from my DD fix, I reach for something protein-rich, healthy, and delish.  GREEK YOGURT is my jam, people!  The best, by far, is Chobani.  Chobani is rich and creamy, and available in non-fat and low-fat varieties.   The non-fat strawberry variety is a staple in my fridge, because it’s a perfect snack for any time of day.  In fact, anything that’s 140 calories is amazing in my book, and the fact that each yogurt cup comes packed with about 14 grams of protein rocks my world.  Better yet, this Greek yogurt is the perfect way to fill up on calcium, which has been linked to weight loss and is a necessity for good bone health.  Plus, it’s good for the baby when I’m too lazy to blend up some organic peas and carrots:)
