Ecstasy, Glow Sticks, and Michael Jackson in the Hamptons?

Written by Maura

So when I hear rave I think blaring music, glow sticks, ecstasy, and guidos who think they are the best thing to happen to dance since (dare I say it?) Michael Jackson. But this rave is like none I’ve ever heard of..a silent rave. Hmm..I’m intrigued. Jack Wills, a fab British clothing line is invading the East Coast this summer, hitting up Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and the Hamptons with some great parties and some always nice gifting. One of these parties will be a silent rave, meaning that every guest will receive head phones, which will blast the same music to everyone. So you can dance the night away in a completely quiet room. If you really think about it, this is awesome since you can party later because nobody is complaining about the noise! How many times has your iPod hit a great song on your commute and you would really love to just bust out your flyest dance moves right there on the train? Now you can live out your day dream! The “Seasonnaires”(Jack Wills’ brand reps) will be hitting the Hamptons on July 24th and August 7th.

  • steph and I listen to the same song on our ipods when we’re on the train and bust all sorts of moves. I’m thinking I may follow these parties around on tour like I used to follow Phish yeaa

  • OMG – Jack Wills is the coolest brand. All the really cool rich British kids wear it. They are mad for it. It is like a cult. Am psyched that they are coming over here. JC

  • I grew up in the UK and Jack Wills has thrown some of the sickest parties ever. I was actually over in the UK for their Varsity Polo Tournament, the after party got ridiculous, and just before we thought the party was over, they brought out these Silent Disco headsets. Not only was the experience bizarre but actually it was hilariously good fun! The coolest thing about it was that you could switch channels between the two DJs that were playing.
