Neither have I. But I am going to tell you anyway, and I want you to soak it all in and wonder why we can’t get our heads out of our American asses and come up with anything as brilliant.
New York based artist Shusaku Arakawa designed and implemented the Reversible Destiny Lofts in Tokyo, Japan. Even after reading about it and studying the pictures I have no idea what the name means. I do know, that they wanted to create an atmosphere that was drastically different from the typical apartment. Rather than create a serene, comforting atmosphere, they opted to go for something visually stimulating and inspiring. Logical design was not high on their list of priorities.
Located in the Tokyo suburb of Mitaka, the Reversible Destiny Lofts are meant to invigorate the lives of their tenants.
You say invigorate, I say cause epilepsy. Tomato-Tomahto.
Still, if you find yourself interested in unique architecture and traveling to Tokyo, it might be worth a look, or a walk-through.
