Tunisian-born Azzedine Alaïa has designed for beyond A-list clients, including Greta Garbo, before presenting his first collection in 1980. His training in sculpture is evident in a groundbreaking body-conscious aesthetic that is intelligent, distinctive and sexy.
I have to admit that on a very superficial level, owning an Alaïa dress would be a pretty exciting point in my life. It is a classic piece among the likes of owning a quilted Chanel, and black Loubitan heels. These white dresses in particular, are extremely flattering to all women. Tight around the boobs and waist and wider around the hips – they accentuate women’s bodies in all of the right places.
