Galesnjak Island is Heart Shaped and Adorable

Written by Guest Blogger

Galesjnak Island boasts a heart shape and lush vegetation, making it a top destination for adventurous lovers.

You love travel, we love travel, and sometimes traveling new places loves you right back– such is the case with this perfectly heart-shaped island in the pristine waters of Europe. The island, which is easily spotted by Google map enthusiasts, is located in the Pasman Channel of Adriatic Sea that is between the town of Turanj and the islands of Pasman on Croatia mainland. Galesjnak Island appears like a heart-shaped, blissful object of romance in an otherwise tranquil waterway.

This unusual shape was first recorded in the early 19th century by Chaerles-Francois Beautemps-Beaupre (Napoleon’s cartographer), and lived on for decades in legend. It is one of the most favored islands for romantic adventure travel in the world– and that’s saying a lot.

The island itself is loaded with lush vegetation atop its rocky terrain and boasts 2 notable peaks. The highest peak is 36 meters above sea level– perfect for overlooking the island’s natural pebble beaches and romantic swimming spots. The surrounding waters of the Pasman Channel are shades of deep blue and emerald, and offer an untamed atmosphere that’s hard enough to reach and easy enough to find to make the middle-of-the-road adventure traveler completely satisfied. The island is said to be privately owned though, so if you’re not personally invited, know that you risk a slap on your romantic, traveling wrists. It’s also become a sort of trophy of Instagrammers and social media travel boasters, so if that describes you, you’ll need to add this romantic venue to your bucket list.
