So at our fab LuxSpot Yoga event last night, Bryce complimented a fellow Yoga-er on her super cute sparkly sandals. Yoga-er replied: “thanks, but i was afraid they were too sparkly”
Bryce: “nonsense, there is no such thing as too sparkly”, then motioned to her jelly Coloriffics sparkling in the light.
Amen, sister is all I have to say to this convo. I’ve been loving sparkly wonderfulness lately, it just makes me happy to see my tootsies shine as a stroll my way around town. To each their own sparkle–I do not have the lovely Coloriffics that Bryce does but I do have my fab Nicole Leigh flip flops. The swarovski crystals give me a dose of sparkle in my outfit but the fact that the rest of the sandle is black and silver makes it neutral enough to wear almost daily. The best part about these is that they are super comfy, I’m not sure whether it is the soft sole or the ribbon thong but I can wear them all day long: commuting, running errands, they are perfecto!
Now, anyone that knows me (or has read my LuxurySpot profile) knows that I love me some David Yurman. If you want sparkle, he is the man for the job, creating amazing jewelry that I drool over and save my pennies to purchase. He is my favorite so when I heard that he was making a perfume AND body lotion, I lost it. Ashley actually had to physically calm me down because I was soo excited to try it. To be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect though..it’s like your favorite make-up company coming out with a line of sandals, you are pretty sure you will like it because you’ve been so satisfied with them before but you have no clue what it will actually be like. I will say the one expectation I did have was that the bottle would be beautiful and it absolutely is..very reminiscent of his jewelry. Anyhow, I’m pretty loyal to my perfumes I use now(I switch back and forth between Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely and Juicy Couture) but there is always room for a newbie, especially when it’s David Yurman. Although this may be a newbie to my perfume section on my dresser the David Yurman eau du parfum has a very classic smell, slightly reminiscent of Chanel No. 5. I have the Purse Spray and I love it because it is the cutest little pocket size and since the scent is a little strong, you only need a little at a time. I naturally also got the Luxurious Body Cream and I really love it, it leaves my skin super soft and luxury is our kind of thing, lets be serious!
But the sparkle doesn’t end there, you have to have some sparkle in the make-up department of course! My new favorites are Pixi and NP(Napoleon Perdis, famed Australian makeup artist’s line). NP has these Pre-Foundation Primers (one is Pore Perfecting and the other is Bronzing, to solve your current particular issue–big pores or pasty-ness.) and I love them, it is the perfect beginning to your make-up regiment. It helps give you a more perfected, airbrushed look without being time consuming.
On top of that I love to use Pixi’s eye shadow, there is just a touch of shimmer in their shades that give you that sparkle without flashing back to Studio 54 glitter madness. I like to switch between the Eye Beauty Kit No. 14 and 15 depending on my mood and the occasion. It goes on really smooth and lasts a reasonable amount of time, I highly recommend. Both the Pixi and NP products are new to Target stores, so head on out there because you know you love Target..who doesn’t?? Sara
