Get Your Summer Drank On

with some delicious cocktail recipes!

With the weather getting warmer(slowly but surely) and my anticipation for summer rising, I began my search for my new summer 2010 cocktail. My natural inclination is to go for something that incorporates my fave flavor, lime! Let’s face it, nothing says summer like fruit in your beverage. And alas, I found the Fair Caipirowska.

Fair Caipirowska

  • 5 cl of Fair Vodka
  • 1/2 lime
  • 2 spoons of fairtrade certified sugar

Cut the 1/2 lime in 4 pieces and crush mortar with the sugar. Top with crushed ice and add Fair Vodka. Shake well and serve with two short straws.

A sweet drink with the citrusy addition of lime, I’m fairly certain that the Caipirowska will become my go-to cocktail this summer..that is unless I’m feeling extra classy in which case I’ll go to the good ole classic martini.

Classic Martini

  • 1 cl of Noilly Prat extra dry
  • 7 cl of Fair vodka
  • 1 lemon

Put ice in a mixing glass or a shaker. Pour the Noilly prat and rinse the ice with it. discard the Noilly Prat in the cocktail glass. Pour the Fair Vodka in the mixing glass and stir. After about 30 stirs, discard the noilly prat from the cocktail glass and strain the vodka into the cocktail glass. Peel the lemon and zest over the cocktail glass.
