Heart-Shaped Tung Talay Luang Island, Thailand

Written by Bryce

Heart-shaped islands might sound like magical myths, but Tung Talay Luang Island in Thailand is just that!

Tung Talay Luang is a heart-shaped island located in Sukothai, Thailand. The name’s direct translation is “holy/sacred heart-shape land,” which was designed to convey the message of love and harmony of the province. The island came to be as part of an irrigation program initiated by His Majesty the King to help drain floodwater from Bangkok following the epic flood of 1995. Look closely at the photos– there’s literally a highway to the heart. How cute!
