How to Create a Tropical Ocean Panorama in Your Living Room

There is nothing more calming than looking out at a panoramic vista of the ocean, and concentrating on the horizon where ocean meets sky. Unless you live on one of the coastlines close to the equator, chances are you don’t often get the opportunity. Create the illusion of an ocean view in your living room using nothing but blue paint and photographs. (Bear in mind that the pubes depicted below are not part of this DIY)

This DIY is super easy. All you have to do is:

Thumb through a bunch of magazines or look on the internet to find photos of beachy tropical locales. This works best if you choose photos with a slight vintage finish, but you can play with the subject matter as long as the colors are similar.

Find the perfect blue. We really love this Behr color in Artesian Blue. Paint your wall in your chose hue.

Arrange your photos in a straight panorama across the center of the wall. You can use items like Modge Podge or any other gel medium to adhere the photos, or use double-sided tape if you don’t want something so permanent.

The break in the wall will create the illusion of the horizon and make it appear that the “sky” and “ocean” parts of your wall are two different hues of blue. Then step back, take a deep breath, and enjoy your tropical ocean panorama.
