How To: Look Like You Don’t Have The Flu

Written by Ashley

I’ve been battling a cold/flu/plague or sorts for the past couple of weeks, so needless to say… if i get any sleep at all, it’s not restful sleep. It’s that kind of half-sleep that involves your eyes being closed, and you being in a sort of lying down position, but you’re mostly just curled up in a ball one minute and flailing the blankets off in an x-treme judo kick the next. Without concealer and lots of highlighter, I was getting by — but the combo of these two prods, and lots of vitamin c, a big blue fluffy blanket courtesy of my mom, and much-needed tea & soup breaks courtesy of my other mom (Bryce), I’m feeling a whole ton better.

For relieving tired, puffy, half-closed scary eyes: Lather’s Toning Eye Gel with Vitamin K is unparalleled. Niacin and Vitamin K restores life & a cooling effect into the eye area, helping to improve skin tone and reduce the appearance of dark circles.  TIP: Put this in the fridge before bed and apply chilled in the AM to tired, puffy eyes. << I followed suit, via Lather’s website, and highly recommend this to amp up the groove — it even seemed to take allergy itch away. Miracles were worked. [$28 lather.com ]

For relieving that tossing, turning, can’t fall asleep again so I guess I’ll watch Clueless again feeling: The press information included with this included the following line: “A recent study published by author John Axelsson, PhD, of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, which finds that those who got more sleep were rated to appear more attractive” — welp… duh.  But, after reading this again… I was brought to a realization that even after this deathflu2010-2011 was finito, sleep needed to be high on my priorities in life. My own life studies reveal that I am less attractive physically, spiritually, emotionally, romantically and astrologically when lacking sleep. But, while ill, keeping a stash of these near-by (they come in 7-packs!) helped me, as their trial claims promised, fall asleep faster to awake looking & feeling more rested, unlike night-time medicines that leave you waking up grogg. Ingredients include Valerian root – an ancient Roman sleep aid, Vitamin-E – a natural antioxidant, and other naturally occurring elements to work together in the result of a tasty drink – best consumed 30-60 minutes before sleep, to awake well-rested & beautiful.
