Hudson Hotel Goes Supernatural

Written by Vivianne

There are several awesome things about the new Semi-Automatic over-sized vending machine in the lobby of the Hudson Hotel: 24K gold handcuffs, a Ferrari rental, a tooth brush (always handy), a copy of The Catcher In The Rye… but our favorite item is without a doubt the retro Ouija Board.

Cozy and dark, the rooms at the Hudson are indeed perfect to hold a supernatural session with old friends or new acquaintances. It’ll feel just like high school!

Here are some simple rules to follow when you’re using a Ouija Board.

– Wait until the sun goes down. Keep the lights dim, light one white candle (for protection) and one black candle (for absorbing dark energies)… Setting up a translucent atmosphere is key to channeling the spirits.

– Burn some incense. Lavender, frankincense, myrrh, sage or lemon are best.

– Start using the board around midnight.

– Be clear as to what you want to ask the Ouija, and ask one question at a time. Start with Yes or No questions.

– Choose a group of people you are comfortable with, and whom you trust. It would suck if someone cheated and moved the planchette, wouldn’t it?

– Keep the room as quiet as you can.

– Do not use the board for longer than an hour and a half.

– Thank the spirits when you’re done!

– Always close the board after the seance.
