They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but I’ve never been particularly skilled in the culinary arts. I tend to skip all of the domesticated, I-slave-over-the-stove crap and opt for a quicker and infinitely easier way to attract a mate– smelling like food.

Don’t misunderstand. I don’t rub meatloaf all over my limbs before a night out. I’ve never had a suitor attempt to take a bite of my BBQ thighs. But remember coming home at 3 P.M., hungry and malnourished from skipping dreadful school “lunches”, only to be greeted by the tempting waft of fresh chocolate chip cookies? They sit next to the window cooling down, tantalizing enough to make you drool on the Formica counter… and your mom is all, “Don’t eat them yet, they’re too hot”, and you’re all, “I don’t care, I’m eating them anyway”, and they burn the roof of your mouth and there’s melted chocolate all over your teeth?

That’s how I smelled this morning after using Chocolate Soap Parfait by Athena’s Olive Tree. Good enough to be devoured, despite the consequences. I took a small dab of the parfait in my hand and momentarily questioned giving it a taste. It took an unexpected blast of cold water to come to my senses. The pure sweet almond oil infused parfait is impressively light-weight, and while it didn’t leave a filmy residue all over my bod, it was clear that I still smelled quite edible once it had been washed off. Not only that, but it was the shower product that wouldn’t quit. Hours later, my skin is still soft enough to be envied and I could’ve swore I saw a hungry child eyeing me down on my way home from work.
