Interracial Marriage Gets Voted Down in Kentucky

Written by Bryce

Pike County, Kentucky has some REAL backwards ways.

I think I should add “(but are we surprised?)” to the title of this post. I mean, the story I’m about to tell is pretty shocking at the tail end of 2011, but still, Kentucky isn’t exactly at the forefront of liberal thinking and encouraging the public to find unity.

A church in Pike County, Kentucky voted earlier this week to ban interracial couples from being congregation members- and yes, that includes coming to services. A former pastor at the church asked that a proposal stating that “the church did not condone interracial marriage” be brought to vote for congregants to decide once and for all. The ban was passed by a 9 to 6 vote, and Gulnare Freewill Baptist Church now successfully bans the freewill of Pike County area congregants. I’m betting at least 90% of the male congregants jerk off to Beyonce music videos like every single day, and let’s face it, Beyonce is the product of some racial commingling. Without a little interracial action we wouldn’t have Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, David Blaine, Jordin Sparks, or oh yeah… our president.  Watch this video if you want to see more of this vomit-inducing BS:

  • Wonderful to know that in this day and age, small minded thinking of this type still exists. Then again, it’s Kentucky so should I really be surprised? (apologies, in advance, to the many residents of that state who disavow or are appalled by such behavior)..

  • You know, it’s times like these when I actually want to kiss the pavement of New York City (and that’s sayin’ something).
