Life Advice from Kate Moss

Written by corey

For its 60th Anniversary, Playboy shot the iconic Kate Moss. A fearless beauty, who has taken not only the fashion industry by storm, but the world. She’s known in every social circle. It’s as if Moss is a modern day goddess, who chooses not to care what anyone thinks about her. Her runway walk is mesmerizing and her pout could get you to do just about anything. This week, I picked up my first Playboy issue and I plan on keeping it forever. As I asked the girl at Duane Reade if they carried the issue, she looked at me perplexed. What could a bottom like me want with a Playboy? I wanted Moss. I needed Moss.

When it comes to being an icon, there is no age limit. Kate had this to say when she was asked about longevity, “I think if you’re an individual, it doesn’t matter how old you are, as you yourself can confirm.” Admittedly, Kate is one of the oldest working models in the business and she can still out walk any new girl down the Chanel runway. It takes a good sense of self to know when you’re done, but there is no end for Moss. She also knows a good lay when she sees on. “Kill Piers [Morgan], marry Marc [Jacobs], fuck Naomi [Campbell],” she says when asked to play the game. Who would Kate want to have a dinner with? Jack Nicholson, David Bailey, Stevie Nicks, Catherine Deneuve, Joan Collins and Huge Hefner. “I would like to have dinner with naughty people who have a story to tell,” she says and we all know Kate hates being bored.

She’s not done either. “I want to carry on being inspired, to work and to always find new things. I think that’s it, isn’t it? That’s all I want…to never get, like, ‘I’m bored.’ I don’t do boredom,” she says as the article comes to a close. If that’s not inspiring, I don’t know what is. While Kate has had her ups and down she’s a good role model for empowerment. While most models are done by 30, Moss is still a fixture on the runway in Paris, Milan and London.

I’m going to finish this piece with a thank you. As I flipped through the magazine, I started going through it. I was feeling all the things. Kate Moss, icon.
