Morning Routine Time Savers: Sleep in a little more, why dontcha?

Written by Bryce

7 Ways to Shave Time Off Your Morning Routine– because every extra minute in bed counts.

1) Combine your coffee with your breakfast. If you’ve never had kefir before, it’s a yogurt based drink that is loaded with protein and good-for-your-gut probiotics. It also takes literally no time to make as you can either pour it in a glass or drink straight from the bottle. Try adding 1 teaspoon of ground coffee to a 10 ounce glass for a totally filling, energizing protein drink that tastes like a cold latte. You’ll save time brewing coffee, and time sitting to eat.
2) Lay your makeup out the night before. It may sound weird, but the average woman spends 14 minutes on her makeup each morning. About 2 minutes of that is fumbling around for products. Lay your skincare and makeup routine out the night before to shave a few precious minutes off your prep.
3) Check the weather forecast before planning outfits. When I polled my readers, I found that over 60 percent of respondents plan their outfits in advance, but they don’t actually plan based on the weather. What happens when your cute sundress is met with rain the next day? Well, a wasted 4-5 minutes at least coming up with a suitable alternative. Check the weather and plan your outfit accordingly.
4) Go to bed with wet, braided hair. If you’re the type to blowdry your hair before work, think again. You have 2 options: either do your hair the night before and add a little volume with dry shampoo, or go to bed with wet hair in big, chunky braids. You’ll wake up to huge, wavy beach volume that only needs to be brushed out.
5) Leave a bottle of water next to your bed. Research shows that drinking at least 8 ounces of water upon waking up has an energizing effect on the body. Circulation and mental activity speed up– so leave a glass or a bottle on your nightstand and make this a major habit.
6) Use hanger tags. Try laying out a few days (or even a whole week’s) worth of outfits in advance, and adorn each hanger with a handmade day of the week tag. That way when you head to your closet in the morning you just look for Monday, take it out, and throw it on!
7) Have a set place for your keys, phone, and coat. If you know they’re in the same exact place each night, they should be in the same place each morning– and that means you won’t ever have that mad scramble for lost keys or that “oh my goodness I left my phone at home” moment when you’re already halfway to work. This is probably the easiest, most universal morning routine booster out there.
