Music Spotting: The Ultimate Holiday Playlist

The only holiday playlist you’re going to want to listen to!

After spending endless amounts of time (a few hours this morning), I have created the perfect holiday playlist for you to wrap presents, clean your living room, cook and procrastinate at work to. The playlist is sprinkled with some favorite holiday classics, new songs you may not have heard yet and a few obscure songs you wouldn’t expect. And don’t worry, the elevator muzak version of “Jingle Bells” is not on here.

“Last Christmas” by Wham! – By far one of the most holiday songs of our time! The song is a perfect blend of catchy pop music, Christmas celebration and heartbreak recovery.

“Sleigh Ride” by TLC – Throw back to one of the best 90s girl groups ever. Need I say more?

“Santa Baby” by Kylie Minogue – A Christmas anthem for every smart girl who knows what she wants out of life.

“My Only Wish” by Britney Spears – Because no playlist is complete without a Britney Song. Not one.

“I Won’t Be Home For Christmas” by Blink 182 – Don’t even act like the holidays have never made you go postal on everyone at Bloomingdale’s if one more person bumps into you again.

“White Christmas” by Lady Gaga – Love her or hate her, there’s no denying that Lady Gaga’s a great singer and performer. Her classy smooth jazz take on the holiday favorite is lovely and heart warming.

“A Christmas Duel” by The Hives and Cyndi Lauper – A hilarious Christmas song that celebrates the reality of going through a break-up during the holidays.

“Don’t Shoot Me Santa” by The Killers – In case you weren’t so good this year.

“When Christmas Comes” by Mariah Carey and John Legend – A lovely holiday duet by two truly talented performers.

“Christmas in Hollis” by RUN DMC – There’s was no way you thought I was going to create a playlist without hip-hop now, did you?

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey – You can’t have a Christmas with out Mariah Carey. Perhaps the only holiday song they play at malls over and over again that I never get sick of.

“Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses – Finally, the theme song to how I feel about Christmas this year. It’s been a long year!
