Nail Know-How You Really Need

Written by Bryce

When it comes to nails, CND’s resident nail guru, Roxanne, has all the tips and tricks that your manicurist is afraid to share:

“A real trick you can use at home is to lift and loosen the cuticle. You can do this with an orangewood stick (there are many in-home manicure sets now available with these) and a callus remover also works great. Alternately, you can use a face cream with AHA (alpha-hydroxy) on the nail as it’s multi-purpose and gentle and not too abrasive.”

Roxanne also shares, “another easy way to keep cuticles healthy each day is to take a washcloth in the shower and rub this on cuticles.”

Another awesome tip: Soak in a bowl of warm water for a maximum of three minutes to help lift and loosen the skin. Note: Longer nails should be kept in less time as the nail bed can swell and change shape, causing the polish to chip later.

Cuticle craving of the day: CND’s SolarOil (it’s so damn good). $11.50, here.
