I know I joke a lot about it, but in truth our societies obsession with being super-thin leaves me flabbergasted. The fashion industry has perpetuated this myth because they wanted super-thin models to look like coat-hangers for their clothes, but have you ever hung around a super-thin person? Most of the time they just bitch about how hungry they are, and they aren’t able to do anything super-fun like climb a mountain or eat a big meal because they are too worried about how they look. People that are rail-thin miss out on a lot in life: crazy, uninhibited sex (they will snap in half) sumptuous, decadent foods (you will literally be able to see the outline of a steak between their ribs), and so many more of life’s crazy adventures. If you don’t eat, you don’t have any energy, and as a result you don’t have any fun.
On the opposite side of the coin, super fat people miss out on a lot too. My point is, maintaining a weight that is healthy for you should be the goal. Being as thin as Kate Moss is something only a few people can achieve, and I am not 100% sure its worth it. If you cut Kate Moss’s arm off, cigarette smoke, diet pills, and cocaine would probably leak out.
I don’t care how good people think that looks, it just isn’t healthy.
