OPI’s Matte Polish Pleases, Makes Manicures Marvelous

Written by Alexis

I just got my happy hands on OPI’s new matte polishes and my fashion-forward fingers feel fabulous.

Launching in July, the no-shine, super-fast-drying polishes are the epitome of cool. Meant to be applied sans base or topcoat for a when-I-used-to-paint-my-nails-with-whiteout finish (in fact, there is a white polish that is eerily reminiscent of my days in elementary school), the effect is so show-stoppingly stunning that you may just want to run out and buy a bottle of Whiteout to fudge the edgy effect until OPI’s colors hit shelves.

Debuting in 6 colors to correspond with already released glossy shades (Alpine Snow, La Paz-itively Hot, Lincoln Park After Dark, Russian Navy, Gargantuan Green Grape, and You Don’t Know Jacques) the matte colors can be worn alone, layered with their glossy counterparts, or used to accent shinny shades (try just tipping your fingers, French-style, with the matte hues for an eye-popping effect).

Buyer beware, however, the matte colors will not wear as long as your typical high-gloss polishes (especially without base and top coat which compromises the matte-effect,) but who really cares how long it lasts when it just looks so freaking fantastic.
