Paris Best: Ethnic Food

Samo

One of my professors, a Korean who grew up in Seoul, gave her thumbs up to this place, saying it was one of the few (more) authentic Korean restaurants she’s tried in Paris. Samo, tucked away on a side street perpendicular to the well-known Rue Cler, is particularly popular for its Korean barbecue. Opt for their 15 euro lunch formula, which will get you a green tea, an appetizer of a soup, dumplings, or salad, and Korean beef (which you cook yourself!) served with various bowls of vegetables, seaweed, white rice, and kimchi (fermented cabbage). Their other popular dish, bimbimbap (pictured above), is a clay pot filled with white rice, vegetables, kimchi and seaweed, topped off with a fried egg.
