I’m ready for some serious tanning action to go down this summer. But this wild weather isn’t helping. In NYC, we had a week-ish long HEAT WAVE which resulted in Steph and I Brooklyn-sun-baking and iHome-booming. I remember those days fondly now as I get WeatherBug alerts for tornado winds and flash floods. I may be resorting back to my boots and sweaters…but damnit I’m keeping my tan. I worked too hard laying around in the grass all day, NOT to keep this tan. Self-tanner in addition to keeping my skin toned and hydrated will prolong this tan forever (I hope!). But i’ll have to do it the fake way- tanning beds just ain’t my steeze.
I’m usually not a self-tanner lady, but Guerlain Terracotta Sunless Tinted Self-Tanning Gel was the perfect solution to my much needed bronze-goddess maintenance. This stuff worked miracles. Nobody in their right mind would believe that I was a tan individual, on any day… however Guerlain’s wonder gel magically helped decorate my skin with an even, light and bronzy glow that was not only believeable, but was easilly applied! Squirting some of the gooey gel into my hand made me a lil’ nervous, but after I began to smooth it onto my legs, arms, and everywhere else, I became sedated with the delish scent and instant gratification of a non-irish pale hue. But the best was yet to come! Guerlain’s Teracotta tan gets more intense between the 7th & 24th hour after application.
Rub this all over your body for a nice lil’ tan while mother nature plays with our heads. Available $50 at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom and on Sephora.com
For my facial region, I opted out of rubbing said miracle gel on my vulnerable pores, as they are troublesome lil’ fellas. They needed a little something different for quest in the irish gal glow.
First- I ATTACK the pores with Dermalogica’s Sebum Clearing Masque. I honesly can say that this stuff made my pores look smaller and tighter after one use. I rubbed my eyes, cleaned the mirror, and looked again. Yep, my pores were teeny! This clay based, salicylic acid boosted situation also made my oily-ish skin less oily, without stripping me of any moisture that my sun-baked skin is lacking.
I just slathered a thin layer of paraben-free love on my skin, chilled our and watched Joan Rivers live the dream on Celebrity Apprentice, and rinsed thoroughly. My skin felt tighter and moisturized- keeping my tan intact. And as to not take away from said tan, for makeup I decided to only use a lil’ concealer to cover up the dark-circles, skip the foundation, and go straight to making my skin Perfekt!
I would classify this gel into the ‘tinted moisturizer’ category…except that it does so much more than a tinted moisturizer. This all-in-one tinted gel helps to slighten the appearance of pores, reduce redness (!!!yay!!!), hydrate and, for lack of a better word… perfect your skin. You can find it at Sephora, and visit PerfektBeauty.com for more info on this Vitamin-enriched killer addition to your makeup bag. I always slip it into my beach bag to get me glowing and ready in a flash for after beach drinkin funtime.
But alas… I am not on vacation, I’m here in dreary NYC…but my tan is far from dreary with these helpful tools by my side.
