Look inside the former home of boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

We normally profile mansions, Tudor-style castles and sprawling estates, but today we’re delving into history. The Philadelphia home of Muhammad Ali just hit the market for a shockingly decent $600k, and we’re taking you on a magical carpet ride through each room. Really—there’s a lot of magical carpet.

“A rare opportunity to own a piece of Philadelphia history once owned by one of the most iconic boxers of all time, Muhammad Ali,” begins the listing for 1835 North 72nd Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

“Nestled on a quiet, tree-lined street, this remarkable home was once purchased as a personal retreat and training base for the legendary boxer with many original features still preserved.”

With three bedrooms, three bathrooms and over 2,800 square feet of living space at a reasonable price, it’s great for real families.

“Upon entering, you can see why this home is so special,” it continues. “From meticulously crafted ceiling beams to beautiful chandeliers and the very same stone fireplace that was once used by the Ali family,” every midcentury modern detail has been preserved almost as if it was a time capsule.

Just imagine displaying a brightly-hued blue Christmas tree here and hanging stockings loaded with stocking stuffers for Mom, toddler stocking stuffers and kids stocking stuffers here.

“The ground level offers a bedroom that could be used for an office or bonus room and has an attached bath.”

“The main floor takes you back in time with many original details in the formal living room with a wood-burning stone surround fireplace, a bedroom with an attached full bath, the kitchen with original wood panel detail.”

We’re not certain the furniture is the same as when the Ali family lived there, but it certainly looks believable. We compared these images with some taken of the boxing champion and confirmed the wood paneling is, indeed, the very same.

If those panels could talk!

A large sunroom with sliding doors out to the back yard and pool that once was the center of relaxation and entertainment for Muhammad and his family.”

There’s not much we’d change other than the foam ceilings and appliances (maybe). This is just as historically important as Monet’s kitchen in Giverny, France.

“The upper level of the home is completely dedicated to the grand main suite complete with an attached en-suite bath and original round tub that you can imagine was a comfort after many tough trainings.”

The purple tub belongs in the Smithsonian, if you ask us. Look at all that tile mosaic work! It’s fantastic.

And the carpet? We all know carpet holds onto everything. You can probably still find Ali’s DNA in it. We promised a magical carpet, didn’t we?

“Impress your guests with a swanky lower-level lounge area and bar. There is even a detached part of the home that can be used as a private gym or extra storage.”

But really, the home bar with rich, red carpet and decor plucked right from the 1970s high life is enough to make all your friends drool. Speaking of high life, yes, you should be serving Miller High Life in this place.

This property sits on almost a half acre of land in a great location close to the popular Morris Park area, shopping, public parks and public transportation.
