Preppy Cutesy: It’s a thing, go for it

Written by Bryce

Preppy cutesy is basically all I’ve seen all over my Chelsea, NYC neighborhood lately. It’s 1 part refined Nantucket wisdom, carefully shaken (not stirred) with a little edgy glam. I love it, mostly because this look seldom requires an iron or restrictive shapewear. Three cheers, to that!

1. Start with a properly preppy top. This linen pullover is chic, elegant, and will pair well with everything from cutoffs to sequined DVF booty shorts. I mean, versatility is the name of the game, right? It’s Jachs NY, and available here.

2. Accessorize, dear. The “cutesy” part of this equation comes from the appropriate jewelry, shoes, and makeup. Think simple with a twist of brilliance, like these bracelets by KAIA. A three stack of these rutilated quarts bracelets will bump your fashion game up, and the beads have even been said to slow down the aging process. So, basically, all I’m hearing here is “glam and young forever.”

3. Look fresh. NARS, how do I love your makeup? Let me count the ways. In this case, I love that you have two perfect face color options in one little palette. Bronze (GENTLY, people!) around the edges of the forehead, cheekbones, the center vertical bone of the nose, and chin (and don’t forget your collar bones), and then highlight your cheeks casually with a little blush. Basically, your skin wins with this, so you’ll look like a glowy preppy cutesy yacht maiden every single time. Blush Bronzer Duo available here.

4. The shoes are everything, doll. Flat = preppy, bows = cutesy. What more could you want than these Wallis sandals? Oh, for them to be affordable? Well, lucky you, they’re $44 here.
