I have faced the facts that old people are hot right now. Recently, pop culture has started to favor the geriatrics in a very roundabout, unobtrusive way. It started with everyone wearing cardigans, then progressed to fashionable young it girls dying their hair gray. Now, everyone is talking about the old women who watched Kim Kardashian’s sex tape and talking about how she could fit two hands around it with space in the middle, and viral posts about old people bonding with cab drivers on their way to their hospice.
Trends come and go, and normally I just ignore them. This trend found its way onto my radar however, since I am one of the people who couldn’t enjoy The Notebook because they got old in the end. I do think that aging is a beautiful thing. I don’t, however want it shoved in my face every day as a constant reminder that every year my balls are getting that many millimeters closer to the ground.
I regard the old people trend like I regard patterned pants. Not into it.
