Russian intelligent robot.

Apparently in Russia they are building robots intelligent enough to escape from labs.

Every post I write about Russia boggles my mind in some way or another. It doesn’t matter if we are talking about the trashiest Russian weddings you have ever seen, or the fact that they throw gay people off of rooftops with their butts super-glued shut, it seems like things in Russia are always a little bat-shit.

Apparently they are now building artificially intelligent robots that are so artificially intelligent that they can escape from labs.

The Promobot IR77 is fitted with AI tech that allows it to learn from its experiences and remember everyone it meets. Programmers didn’t realize this might make it want to be free, and although they have reprogrammed it twice, it keeps escaping. When the robot escapes, it causes malarkey in the streets by stopping traffic, and running out of battery power in random places.

Oleg Kivokursev, the co-founder of the research lab that created Promobot IR77 is currently working on a third generation robot with AI, and thinking of scrapping this model.

Based on all the Disney movies I’ve seen, the idea of dismantling the robot makes me sad. Based on the movie Ex Machina, and the fact that this thing lives in Russia, I think they should lower the damn thing into some molten lava, Terminator-style.
