In teenagers that look like Ellen Degeneres news, 19-year-old Danny Bowman tried to pass himself away after he realized he would never take the perfect selfie. Anyone who has watched My Strange Addiction knows that there is no cap on the crazy when it comes to being addicted to things, and taking excessive photos of oneself is no exception.
Bowman allegedly spent up to 10 hours per day taking around 200 selfies on his iPhone, resulting in him dropping out of school, losing 30 pounds, and overdosing on drugs. After he tried to off himself using pills, his parents decided to intervene, and now Bowman is being treated for technology addiction, OCD, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, and anxiety.
I actually have a similar problem because I look pretty good in person, but selfies always make me look like an overindulgent, self-obsessed, 40-year-old transvestite with skin the texture of oatmeal raisin cookies. My solution is that I just don’t take very many selfies, but to each his own.
If you ask me, the problem starts with the parents. If they were paying attention they would have realized the resolution and flash on an android phone is much better than the iPhone. They could have prevented this debacle with $400 well spent at their neighborhood T-Mobile location.
