A stolen rubber duck returns to its rightful owners after going on an adventure around the world.
Even as a kid I always loved a good bath, so I am no stranger to rubber duckys. When I was a kid I feel like I kept one as a best friend, so I can’t imagine how it must feel to have your favorite bath-time companion stolen. A family in the Hamptons lived through this actual nightmare though, when a rubber duck named Baldie was stolen from their yard five years ago.
The Troiano family has no idea who abduckted (get it?) their toy, but it has since mysteriously returned after five years. Baldie was their daughter’s toy, used to decorate a pond in the yard. A few months after the duck was stolen though, they received a postcard from it, originating in Kuwait City. The rubber duck recounted tales of visiting Amsterdam, Honduras, and the Middle East, and had even created a Facebook page called ‘Gale Ducky’.

Over the next five years the family received updates via Facebook covering trips to the Caribbean, Mexico, South Korea, Hawaii, Zimbabwe, Iceland, Panama, and lots of other cities in Europe and the US.
Then randomly, the family awoke to an email with a photo of the ‘Gale Ducky’ sitting on the sidewalk in front of their house with a suitcase full of travel souvenirs.
The family has no idea who actually absconded with their rubber duck, but they are just happy to have it back.
See, some stories do have happy endings!
