I know that “urban chic” is not one of this fall’s known trends; I don’t even know if it’s called urban chic. I made that name up. Regardless, this tendency towards street-influenced style is really winning me over. It’s all about mixing casual pieces like sweatpants, maybe a sweatshirt, maybe a snapback hat, with coherent styling and dressier accessories – think a collection of bracelets, rings, or a really great watch like this super-personal Instagram InstaWatch by May28th. Basically, urban chic is made for the girl who wishes sweatpants could have a stylish moment and has a secret, intense affinity for hip hop culture and fashion, AKA me.
