Summer is the season of outdoor activities, but not everyone likes the outdoors. I am a huge fan of camping, but I can understand why some people, especially city dwellers might not want to brave the wilderness (snakes, mosquitoes, and sweating, oh my!). The Bunkie architectural cabins are being created to help bring indoorsy people, outside.
Created by Evan Bare of 608 Design and BLDG Workshop, the Bunkie project is following the modular trend of building pieces in a factory, then assembling them on-site. China has created entire skyscrapers using this method, while we here in North America are still working on one-story dwellings, but that is neither here nor there. The cabin contains a single room with two queen-sized murphy beds hidden in one wall, and a table and chairs in the other.
Ever wondered what to do with that 4-acre property your grandfather left you in bumblefuck Idaho? Slap a Bunkie cabin on it, and create a relaxing place for your family to vacation for years to come.
